Crystal Palace
Iain Dowie is chasing Aston Villa's Swedish striker Marcus Allback.
Dowie wants the Swedish international to bolster his attack for life in the Premiership after failing to land a new striker.
Sunderland turned down a bid for Kevin Kyle and Crewe wanted more than £2m for Dean Ashton. Dowie is still after Hungarian international striker Sandor Torghelle.
But 30-year-old Allback could be up for a move to South London to resurrect his career after a poor two seasons at Villa Park.
"My agent told me on Friday that there was interest from Palace, but that's all I know at the moment," he said.
"I am away in Sweden for the moment, so it is too early to talk about transfers."
Palace have also been linked with Manchester United midfielder Kieron Richardson, Southampton's Fitz Hall, Everton forward Kevin Campbell and Leicester striker Jamie Scowcroft.
