Tommy Black holds off Crusaders' Johnny Shaw

Julian Speroni, Gabor Kiraly and Emmerson Boyce made their Palace debuts in the Eagles' 2-0 pre-season win over Crusaders.

Tommy Black scored twice in the first half in a testimonial for the Crues' Gavin Arthur - part of Palace's pre-season tour of Northern Ireland.

Kiraly is still on trial and wants to tie up some minor details on his contract before signing for the South Londoners.

Black fired Palace in front after minutes with a powerful 25-yard strike after latching onto Boyce's through-pass.

He doubled the lead in the 32nd minute by heading in a left-side corner from close range. Palace play Glentoran on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.

Neil Shipperley picked up a knee injury and had to fly home. He could mis the start of the new season.

Palace first half: Kiraly, Boyce, Togwell, Powell, Leigertwood, Berry, Soares, Watson, Borrowdale, Williams, Black.

Palace second half: Speroni, Boyce (Butterfield 60), Hudson, Togwell (Popovic 70), Borrowdale (Granville 70), Berry (Routledge 60), Riihilahti, Derry, Watson (Leigertwood 75), Williams (Johnson 70), Freedman.
