A full-page interview in the Sunday Times conducted by Alison Kervin has had our chairman supposedly mouthing off about not caring "about football protocol and the other club owners".

Responding to the article before the Charlton game, Jordan claimed his comments had been taken out of context and that he did have respect for the majority of Premiership chairman.

Ms Kervin may have got her headline quotes, but Jordan once again unashamedly came across as someone who loves our club and respects its fans.

Any club owner proclaiming that: "I want a good club and good football, not superstar footballers. Football's about the club at the heart of the community, not a handful of transient players", is not only good for us but good for the game.

Jordan's stance on football agents was once again stated, as was his respect for Iain Dowie: "The only true leader I've met in football."

He also admits that wearing his sunglasses to games must have "infuriated" the fans!

But we all know that it is Jordan's actions that speak louder than any (mis) quotes.

He saved our club, signed Dowie and got us back into the Premiership. Palace need Jordan more than he needs Palace.
