Clinton Morrison
Clinton Morrison is set to complete his move back to Palace on Thursday.
Morrison who has become surplus to requirements at Birmingham City has opted to join Palace over Norwich City and Southampton.
Morrison has completed his medical ahead of the reported £2 million switch to South London, and a press conference is set for 9am Thursday morning to announce his arrival.
Morrison was at the Carling Cup match last night to meet up with some old friends including Dougie Freedman, who he formed a lethal partnership with the last time he was playing for the club.
During recent ties between Palace and Birmingham City, Morrison has received a frosty reception from some section of Eagles supporters, angry at his deflection to the Midlands club.
However this has unfazed Iain Dowie's decision to sign the Republic of Ireland international.
Dowie said: "I wouldn't take the reaction of the fans as a swaying factor in which player I sign.
"As a manager you have to brave enough to make decisions you think are right.
"Decisions made on the transfer front will be what I consider to be right for the club.
"But I would be amazed if he didn't get a good reaction when he comes back to the club.
"He has scored a lot of goals for the club and he deserves a good reaction."
He added: "Clinton is a good player and we would love to add players to our squad.
"Don't forget the club received nearly £5million when he was sold in the first place."
