Crystal Palace reserves were thrashed 5-0 at Spurs in a Premiership Reserve League South fixture.

It was the second defeat on the spin for Kit Symons' men in a game played at Stevenage Borough.

Midfielders Mikele Leigertwood and Aki Riihilahti both played 60 minutes as they return from injury.

The game marked the comeback of former Palace winger Wayne Routledge who broke his foot on the season’s opening day for Spurs at Portsmouth.

Spurs took the lead in the 10th minute through Lee Barnard and he doubled the advantage with a penalty on 28 minutes.

Lewis Grabban forced a good save from Spurs keeper Radek Cerny and had a shot off the line before the break.

But seven minutes into the second half, Andy Reid made it 3-0 after Julian Speroni did well to block his initial shot.

Andy Barcham netted two more goals for the hosts as Palace suffered their heaviest defeat of the season.

Palace fall to sixth in the Premiership Reserve League South.

Palace: Speroni, Fray, Wilson, Swaibu, Straker, Black, Riihilahti (T Lyons 60), Leigertwood (Starkey 60), R Hall, Macken (Peprah-Annan 46), Grabban. Not used: Wilkinson, Spence.
