Iain Dowie told his strikers to sharpen up after Palace wasted chances to see off Crewe.

The Eagles led 2-0 through an Andy Johnson double but struggling Crewe hit back to earn a point.

Dowie insisted Palace should have been further in front before Crewe scored and he said: "We should have been home and hosed.

"We should have been far more clinical in front of goal.

"I'm disappointed only about the result because it was a good performance.

"It was a game we should have won, but we are in the play-offs with three matches still to play."

Dowie was also angry Crewe were awarded a penalty for handball against Tom Soares

He said: "The ball bounced up and hit Tom on the hand.

"There was no intent involved and I thought there had to be intent for a penalty to be awarded.

"Some referees give them, some referees don't. In this instance, we didn't get the rub of the green."
