England U21 pair renew contracts

Ben Watson and Tom Soares have put pen to paper on new deals with Palace.

Watson sees his current deal extended to 2009 and Soares until 2010.

Watson has made 101 appearances for the club and Soares has turned out 81 times for the Eagles.

Watson was a target for a number of clubs during the close season and Soares a reported target for Reading recently.

The duo are in Peter Taylor's England Under-21 squad to face Moldova Under-21s at Portman Road tonight.

Meanwhile, Charlie Sheringham has signed a two-year deal. He was previously on a month-by-month contract.
