Kit Symons' Crystal Palace reserves went down to a 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth.

The side featured youngsters James Dayton and Moses Swaibu, who recently signed pro deals with Palace, plus the experienced Danny Granville.

Cherries ace Brett Pitman grabbed the only goal of the game after 20 minutes at the Fitness First Stadium.

Veteran midfielder Darren Anderton saw his cross from the right fall to Pitman and he got past a defender before firing past keeper David Wilkinson.

The impressive Dayton nearly snatched a late leveller in the 85th minute, but saw his shot flash past the post.
