Flinders extends Brighton stay

March 19 2007

Scott Flinders

Scott Flinders

Crystal Palace keeper Scott Flinders has extended his loan spell at Brighton for a further month.

The 20-year-old was sent out to Palace's arch rivals to gain first-team experience and has impressed after a shaky start.

Flinders as kept two clean sheets in five matches and Albion manager Dean Wilkins has been happy with the former Barnsley stopper.

Wilkins said: "We knew we were bringing in somebody who was not 100 per cent for the first couple of matches. Scott has recovered from that and he has done very well for us.

"We are still in a position where we need another keeper with a bit more experience than the young lads we have got (John Sullivan and Richard Martin), so to me it just makes sense to extend his loan."
