Danny Butterfield
Danny Butterfield insists he is ready to commit his future to Crystal Palace.
Butterfield, 27, has a year left on his contract and is eager to sign an extension.
But the right-back knows he must win his place back in the team to convince boss Peter Taylor to offer him a new deal.
After spending most of the season as a first-team regular, the former Grimsby star has become out of favour.
He said: "I don’t think I’m in bad form, it’s just a case of waiting for my chance. At the moment, it looks like Matty [Lawrence] is first choice.
"I just want to play football, and of late I’ve not been getting that. But I know I’m good enough to play in the Championship week in, week out.
"I’ve got a year left, so there comes a point when I’ll have to address the situation. I don't want my contract running down.
"There are two games left this season, and I must play in both of them. But it’s obviously up to the manager whether I do or not.
"My main aim is to win a new contract. Nobody wants to be out of contract in this day and age."
