Crystal Palace suffered their first defeat of the season going down 1-0 at Ipswich.
Stuart Green came closest for Palace in the first half with a beautifully flighted free-kick which was destined for the top corner, but Neil Alexander made a fine save to deny him his second goal in as many games.
Julian Speroni had a good bit of fortune when he was adjudged to have handled the ball outside the area, but was only given a yellow card by referee Andy D'Urso.
Ipswich scored what turned out to be the decisive goal in the 72nd minute, when Jonathan Walters got on the end of a Gary Roberts cross to head home.
Palace: Speroni, Lawrence, Hudson, Cort, Craig, Soares, Fletcher (Freedman 73), Green (Kuqi 64), Kennedy, Morrison (Hughes 73), Scowcroft.
Not Used: Flinders, Butterfield.
