Crystal Palace have swooped for Liverpool striker Besian Idrizaj on a 12-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old joined the Premier League side in 2005 from Austrian side Linzer ASK after being named Austrian Young Player Of The Year.

He has yet to make his first-team debut for the Reds but has been banging in the goals for the reserves and grabbed a hat-trick in Liverpool's friendly win against Wrexham in July.

He got first-team games under his belt on loan with Luton last season and hit one goal in three starts and four substiute appearances.

Idrizaj will go straight into the Eagles squad for Saturday's local derby with Charlton at Selhurst Park.
