Crystal Palace have signed Paul Dickov on loan from Manchester City until December.
The 34-year-old is deemed surplus to requirements at Eastlands after Sven-Goran Eriksson brought in fresh recruits over the summer.
The arrival of new forwards Rolando Bianchi and Geovanni, plus fellow frontmen Emile Mpenza and Darius Vassell already at the club means the former Scottish international is unlikely to get a look in.
After nine appearances last season, his only first-team action this term came in the final minute of City's midweek 2-1 victory over Bristol City in the Carling Cup.
Dickov has signed too late to feature in Palace's home clash with Charlton at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
