Warnock tells Green to go

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has told Stuart Green to leave the club.

The midfielder was signed from Hull for £75,000 last year having played under Peter Taylor at the Tigers.

But despite an impressive start to the new campaign, Warnock has decided Green has no part in his future plans.

Green, 26, was dating Taylor's daughter, and with Leon Cort gone to Stoke, it seems Warnock doesn't want Taylor's favourites at Selhurst Park.

"I've spoken to Stuart and he is a nice lad - but I'm going to let him go," Warnock said.

"I've already got a number of players who can play in that position so we will have a chat about the situation soon."
