Crystal Palace reserves snatched an away point in a 0-0 draw at local rivals Charlton.

John Bostock made his second string bow and the team also featured Scott Flinders, Besian Idrizaj, Dave Martin and Jeff Hughes.

Charlton carved out the first opening as Luke Varney forced Flinders into a save after two minutes at Ebbsfleet's Stonebridge Road.

Palace hand the lions' share of possession with Ashley-Paul Robinson firing just wide from Martin's cross, then Jamie Smith ballooned over.

In the second half, Ryan Hall and Robinson tried their luck from range before the former saw an effort saved by keeper Robert Elliot.

Varney shot straight at Flinders, while Robinson had two more attempts. Then right at the end, Elliot had to be alert to block Hall's close-range shot.

Palace: Flinders, Clyne, Swaibu, Hughes, Hills, Robinson, Bostock (Bingham 79), Hall, Martin (Carolan 89), Smith, Idrizaj.

Not used: Sweeney, Djilali.
