Clinton Morrison
Neil Warnock finally got his first win as he led Crystal Palace to a 2-1 win at Colchester United.
Clinton Morrison was the saviour by scoring a brace to give the Eagles their first victory in nine matches.
He put his side ahead after just six minutes when he buried James Scowcroft's cross into the back of the net.
A minute later, Colchester went down to 10 men as Pat Baldwin was shown a straight red card for fouling Paul Ifill when he was through on goal.
Colchester were on level terms in the 69th minute as Johnnie Jackson got on the end of Mark Yeates' throughball and drove past Julian Speroni.
Three minutes later, the Eagles went back in front for 2-1. Mark Kennedy's corner fell to Shaun Derry who headed back in the danger zone and Morrison nodded home for his 102nd Palace goal.
Palace: Speroni, Lawrence, Fonte, Hudson, Hill, Ifill (Martin 52), Derry, Watson, Kennedy (Soares 74), Morrison (Butterfield 79), Scowcroft.
Not Used: Scannell, Freedman.
