Morrison earns Eagles a point

January 1 2008

Clinton Morrison's goal helped Crystal Palace keep up their unbeaten run to draw 1-1 at home to Norwich City.

The sharp-shooter netted his 11th goal of the season - his ninth in the last 11 - as Palace go 13 matches unbeaten.

Morrison looked lively from the kick-off and tested Norwich keeper David Marshall before later skying over.

Norwich got a grip of the game with Lee Croft stinging the hands of Julian Speroni with a long-range drive and they took the lead on nine minutes.

Jon Otsemobor's long throw on the right was nodded on by Dion Dublin to Jamie Cureton who flicked the ball into Dublin's path. He mis-hit a volley but Daryl Russell was alert to slot past Speroni from six yards.

Speroni then kept out Dublin's header before Danny Butterfield's low shot clipped the outside of the post before the break.

At the start of the second half, the Eagles were indebted to Speroni who tipped Jamie Cureton's header over the bar.

But Morrison grabbed an equaliser for the London side in the 50th minute. Ben Watson's free-kick in the mixer found Morrison who headed into the bottom corner.

Morrison had a shot deflected off target, Dublin fired wide and then Tom Soares wasted a good chance but Palace couldn't get the winning goal.

Palace: Speroni, Butterfield (Fonte 33), Lawrence, Hudson, Hill, Scannell (Freedman 85), Watson (Fletcher 69), Derry, Soares, Scowcroft, Morrison.

Not Used: Hills, Hall.
