Danny Butterfield
Danny Butterfield has drawn on similarities between the current Crystal Palace team and the class of 2004.
Butterfield, 28, was part of Iain Dowie's side that went up to the Premier League after beating West Ham in the play-off final.
Dowie worked wonders to steer Palace away from the relegation zone at Christmas to snatch the final play-off spot on the last day of the season.
With current boss Neil Warnock performing similar miracles leading the Eagles from second-bottom in October to sixth, Butterfield is banking on another promotion.
"You find yourselves in similar situations and then you say we've got a good chance of going and beating teams," said Butterfield. "Under Dowie we had a similar sort of thing when the ball kept rolling.
"Things have gone differently behind the scenes though. Iain Dowie is a completely different character to Neil Warnock but both can get the best out of the players.
"Once you put a few results together the confidence does flood through the camp and we feel that we're capable of beating anyone in the league at the minute.
"I think there's a determination from the lads as a team and as individuals not to get beaten, to take the confidence on from the game before to go to big clubs away where you are not expected to go and win, and win."
