Selhurst Park
Southend goalkeeper Daryl Flahavan should complete his move to Crystal Palace in the next 48 hours after passing a medical.
Eagles boss Neil Warnock moved for Flahavan, who spent eight years at Roots Hall, after telling Scott Flinders he could leave Selhurst Park.
Flahavan, 29, underwent his medical on Tuesday and should put pen to paper by the end of the week after Palace beat off competition from several other clubs.
He will provide cover to Warnock's first choice keeper Julian Speroni.
"Flahavan is having a medical with us and that deal should go through subject to that medical," assistant manager Mick Jones told the Croydon Advertiser.
"He is a more than adequate competitor for Julian Speroni.
"He is a good goalkeeper and there was a lot of interest in him, but we are an attractive proposition at the moment."
