Flahavan signs

Crystal Palace have made a further addition to their squad by snapping up goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan.

Flahavan has spent the last eight years at Southend United, but he was released at the end of last season.

The 29-year-old has signed a three year deal with the Eagles but will have a tough time getting into the first team with Julian Speroni in great form last season.

Flahavan told the official Palace website: "Just a few weeks ago my agent rang me up and said there was interest from Crystal Palace. He then said for me to come down and speak to (manager) Neil Warnock and I was really impressed with what he said.

"After I spoke to him I knew I wanted to come here."
