The Football League
It’s a quick turnaround for the Eagles this week with the Sky cameras returning to Selhurst Park for the visit of Southampton on Monday evening.
Victory for Palace would see them extend their four-game unbeaten run and for table-watchers would see them enter the play-off positions for the first time this season.
However as a result of their recent success bookmakers have inserted Neil Warnock’s side as the very short price favourites to come away victorious from Monday’s encounter.
That price looks a false one as Southampton are a lot better than their current league positions suggests and they themselves are undefeated in four.
In that period they have become the first side to win at Reading, kept two clean sheets and should have beaten Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend with some better finishing.
This young Saints side certainly like to play their football and will create chances while Palace have re-found their scoring touch recently so with the game difficult to call I like the look of their being three goals or more at around the even money mark.

With a full fixture list of Championship action this week there looks a few potential betting propositions as the hectic December period begins. There was no disgrace in Sheffield United’s loss at home to Burnley at the weekend and they look big (6/4) to defeat Nottingham Forest.
Queens Park Rangers have looked solid in two games under Paulo Sousa and they should be too strong to beat Sheffield Wednesday with 15/8 looking a very generous price.
The likes of Swansea (5/6), Wolves (8/13) and Reading (8/15) should all bolster any accumulators as they all look good things at home. The five team accumulator pays around the 30/1 mark to aid that bank balance for some festive shopping.
