Victor Moses bagged a brace in Crystal Palace reserves' 2-1 win at home to Aldershot.

In the second string's first match since mid-December, boss Keith Curle fielded a young side led by the experienced James Scowcroft in attack.

After an even opening to the game, a lively-looking Moses fired Palace in front after 28 minutes.

The striker latched on the end of a weak back pass and as the keeper rushed out to clear, he smacked his effort against Moses and the ball looped into the back of the net.

Just past the hour mark, Moses doubled the advantage with a cool finish after Charlie Holness played him through with a long-range pass down the middle.

Eagles stopper Daryl Flahavan was forced off with a nasty head injury in the 68th minute and was replaced between the posts by defender Hakeem Adelakun.

With two minutes left, the Shots pulled back a goal when Adelakun failed to catch an Aldershot corner and the ball fell lose for an Aldershot striker to score.

Palace: Flahavan (Holland 72), Holness, Adelakun, Carolan (Cadogan 52), Ertl, Nnamani, Djilali, Smith, Scowcroft (Pinney 83), Moses, Dayton.

Not used: Goldsmith.
