Crystal Palace opened their pre-season account with a 4-0 win at Boreham Wood.
Trialist Goran Maric impressed manager Neil Warnock and scored Palace's first goal against the Ryman Premier Division club.
The Serbian striker, 25, has failed to break into the first team of Spanish outfit Celta Vigo after scoring 49 goals in 149 appearances for their reserves.
He spent last season on loan at Barcelona B where he found the net 11 times in 33 games but would relish the chance of regular football in England.
Johannes Ertl and Kieran Djilali put Palace three goals up before former Wood forward Simon Thomas completed the scoring in the second half.
Other trialists featured were ex-QPR midfielder Danny Maguire and Australian Patrick Kisnorbo, who used to play for Leicester City.
Palace travel to the USA on Saturday where they will play Crystal Palace USA on Monday then the Harrisburg City Islanders three days later.
