Crystal Palace officials are refusing to confirm the speculation linking former Manchester United captain Steve Bruce with the vacant managerial position at Selhurst Park.

Bruce quit Wigan Athletic yesterday and is now expected to be named boss at Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace, however, say they have no plans to release a statement over the managerial vacancy at present.

Caretaker boss Steve Kember and first team coach Terry Bullivant are said to be in Spain at the moment where they are hearing chairman Simon Jordan's plans for next season.

It is widely expected that Jordan is informing the managerial duo that they will be working under Steve Bruce next season, providing they wish to stay on at the club.
