Nick Carle

Crystal Palace midfielder Nick Carle has been cut from the Australia Squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Socceroos boss Pim Verbeek decided to trim his initial squad of 31 players down to 28, before the final 23 are announced on 1st June.

Carle was one of those players, along with Middlesbrough striker Scott McDonald and defender Jade North.

Carle was an unused substitute on Monday as Australia beat New Zealand 2-1 in a warm-up friendly.
