Johannes Ertl has left Crystal Palace and signed a two year contract with Sheffield United.
The 27-year-old's contract expired at the end of last season, and without the finances in place, Palace have been unable to offer him a new contract.
Ertl who has played seven times for Austria, put in a number of solid performances during the last campaign for the Eagles, and played a crucial role in the 2-2 draw at Hillsborough against Sheffield Wednesday which saw Palace secure their place in the Championship.
Blades boss Kevin Blackwell told their official website: "He's a good lad who can do a very solid job at right-back, central midfield and even at centre-half. And he has played enough times in the Championship for me to know he can come in and do it for us here."
