Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace have emerged as one of the clubs looking to sign Dutch striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink.
The FC Twente ace looks set to make a summer move away from the Dutch FA Cup winners.
On Wednesday, Dutch footie magazine Voetbal International reported that Crystal Palace contacted FC Twente and yesterday Jan Vennegoor himself confirmed at a live football forum, where he was a guest, that The Eagles are one of the clubs interested in signing him.
Jan Vennegoor, FC Twente top scorer last season with 15 goals in the league, made it clear that he wants to move on to bigger and better things.
It is expected that he will sign for one of the big Dutch clubs (Feyenoord, PSV or Ajax), but a move abroad cannot be ruled out.
Vennegoor said: "The only clubs that have contacted Twente and have shown serious interest are Feyenoord, PSV and Crystal Palace."
FC Twente's asking price lies around £6.5m. PSV have indicated that they are not willing to pay that amount of money and Feyenoord will have to sell players first before they can make a move for the striker.
Crystal Palace are likely to be put off by the price tag on Vennegoors head. The 22-year-old made his debut for the Dutch national side against Portugal earlier this season. He is capped twice and is yet to score his first international goal.
