Speroni set to stay at Selhurst

Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish has revealed that Julian Speroni has agreed a contract extension.

The Argentinan shot stopper has attracted interest from Premier League clubs with his recent outstanding displays in front of goal this season.

The club were keen on getting him to stay and recently offered him a new contract which he has been considering.

Now it looks as though Palace have done enough to persaude him to stay, and Parish told the South London Press that it's a mere formality now.

"Julian loves the club and we've come to an agreement,” said co-chairman Steve Parish.

"We're all happy about it and it's just a case of dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

"Julian has always said he wanted to stay. He's been back to his best in the last few games and I'm now really hopeful we can get the contract done."
