Jordan - refutes Daily Mail claim

Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan rubbished yesterday's report in the Daily Mail claiming the club is again in serious financial trouble.

The report suggested that the club could be forced into administration before the start of next season.

The paper claims that the Eagles cannot pay their bills after Jordan spent the summer out of the country at his holiday home in Spain.

Club staff have sought Football League advice about bills left unpaid by Jordan, according to the newspaper.

A 'former director' is quoted saying: "There are major worries at the club that Simon has run out of money."

It is thought the unnamed former director is in fact Ron Noades. Noades also is said to have evicted the squad from the Godstone training ground, a ground The Eagles haven't used since they moved away last summer.

Jordan, who is expected to issue a further statement in the next few days, said: "These allegations are ridiculous."
