Crystal Palace won their first friendly in Spain yesterday.

The game against Spanish Fourth Division side U.D. San Pedro ended in a 4-0 win for the South Londoners.

The Eagles should have played Croatian First Division outfit NK Cakovac yesterday, but the opposition was changed to the Spanish side at the last minute.

It was Jamie Smith who scored the opening goal eight minutes before half time after a pass from David Hopkin.

Palace played the first half with Mullins and Berhalter as central defenders with Rubins as wingback. Kabba impressed as Freedman's striking partner.

On the hour mark, Steve Thomson made it 2-0 to the visitors after a good combination down the right hand side by Carlisle and Kabba.

Gregg Berhalter made it 3-0 on 78 minutes beating two men and fired home past the Spanish keeper.

On 82 minutes, Wayne Carlisle scored the final goal for Palace curling the ball into the top corner after a fine run by Rubins.

Palace's starting eleven were: Kolinko, Austin, Mullins, Berhalter, Rubins, Smith, Thomson, Hopkin, Rodger, Kabba and Freedman.
