Danns makes Foxes switch

June 27 2011

Neil Danns

Crystal Palace midfielder Neil Danns has signed for Leicester City.

The out-of-contract player snubbed interest from Scottish giants Rangers and Celtic to join Palace's Championship rivals Leicester.

Danns, 28, will officially join the Foxes on July 1 when his Palace contract expires, ending a three-and-a-half year spell at Selhurst Park.

He rejected a new contract with Palace to become Leicester boss Sven-Goran Eriksson's second signing of the close season.

Danns' exit will disappoint many Palace fans after the Liverpool-born player's all-action displays and nine goals made him hugely popular.

He arrived from Birmingham for £600,000 in January 2008 and made 114 appearances, scoring 20 times.
