Kagisho Dikgacoi
Crystal Palace booked their place in the second round of the Capital One Cup after a 2-1 win at Exeter.
New signings Joel Ward and Aaron Martin made their Palace debuts, while Peter Ramage made his first appearance for the Eagles since re-signing in the summer. Fellow new boy Aaron Wilbraham came on in the second half for his bow.
Julian Speroni was rested for this first round tie and replacement Lewis Price was picking the ball out of the back of the net after just two minutes.
Palace failed to clear a corner and Guillem Bauza's cross found John O'Flynn who nodded past Price for the opening goal.
The Londoners were on terms in the 20th minute from the penalty spot after Joel Ward's cross was handled in the box by an Exeter defender. Jermaine Easter smashed the resulting kick down the middle of the goal to level.
Then two minutes before half-time, Kagisho Dikgacoi netted the winner for Palace when he headed home Wilfried Zaha's centre at the far post.
Palace: Price, Ward, Ramage, Martin, Moxey, Dikgacoi, O'Keefe (Wright 77), Garvan, Zaha, Easter (Appiah 87), Murray (Wilbraham 77).
Not Used: Speroni, Dorman, De Silva, Parsons.
