Crystal Palace winger Jason Banton has joined Plymouth on loan for a month.

Banton, 20, came to Selhurst Park in July ater being released by Leicester and played his first game in an under-21 match against old club Liverpool.

Palace boss Ian Holloway handed the former England Under-17 international his first-team debut in the 0-0 FA Cup third round tie with Stoke City earlier this month.

And his move to League Two for vital match time will aid the Londoner who has had spells with Tottenham, Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers before signing a pro deal with Liverpool.

Argyle manager John Sheridan said: "Jason is a young player and he's been at some really good clubs.

"I've seen clips of him and spoke to one or two people who know him and he can be a very, very exciting player.

"I think it's important that we try and get a player who is going to gain us that ground 30-40 yards up the pitch quickly and he's a player who will get at people.

"He's highly recommended and he’s hopefully going to excite us and get us that momentum attacking wise, give us a lift and hopefully play at a high tempo."

Eagles striker Kwesi Appiah has this week signed for Yeovil Town on a month's loan.

The former Margate player has made five appearances this season and would welcome game time at the League One outfit.

Young forward Ibra Sekajja is halfway through a one-month loan at League Two side Barnet. The 20-year-old had a stint at MK Dons earlier in the cmapign but played just once.

"It is great to be here and link up with [Barnet head coach] Edgar Davids again because we had a good friendship at Palace," he said.

"Coming on loan is a different challenge, but hopefully I can come in, play games and improve the team."
