Crystal Palace defender Danny Gabbidon has signed a new deal with the club.

The 33-year-old Welshman has signed a one year deal with the Eagles, providing manager Ian Holloway with key experience in defence for their forthcoming Barclays Premier League campaign.

Gabbidon has had previous spells with Cardiff City, West Ham United and QPR, as well as 46 caps for his country.

He started in the final seven games of the season, replacing Peter Ramage, and was instrumental in Palace's success in the play-offs, where there was no goals given away in the three matches played.

Meanwhile Crystal Palace academy players William Johnson-Cole, Kieran Woodley, Aaron Akuruka, Bayan Fenwick, Jack Holland and Kadell Daniel have all left the club after not being offered professional deals.
