Marange leaves the Eagles

Crystal Palace defender Florian Marange has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

Marange joined from Bordeaux on a free in the summer but didn't make Palace's 25-man squad with manager Ian Holloway saying the left-back didn't have any pace.

The Frenchman's only game was in the Eagles' Capital One Cup defeat at Bristol City and afterwards he spoke of his disgust at failing to make Holloway's cut.

He said: "I am disgusted. If I had known this rule, I would have a clause in my contract. But my advisor did not tell me. And now I am told that it is almost my fault.

"It is true, I have a proper contract, I earn a little more than Bordeaux but living in London is ten times more expensive. And I came to play. Either I rip up my contract or I wait until the winter transfer window to find a club."

Now he has his wish and will search for a new team. Owen Garvan and Stephen Dobbie were the other notable names to miss out with Dobbie rejoining Blackpool on loan until the end of the year.
