The Eagles are linked with a move for Black Cats defender Darren Williams as a possible replacement for Fan Zhiyi who is said to be signed by Dundee in the next few days.

Sunderland star Darren Williams, 24, has failed to hold down a regular place at The Stadium of Light and Bruce is hoping that the defender might be tempted to move south.

The former York City man can play in central defence, at right-back or in midfield, but has only played three league games for Sunderland this season.

Meanwhile, Jovan Kirovski has been called up to the US national squad for the World Cup qualifier against Jamaica this weekend.

Kirovski is part of a 23-man squad picked by US manager Bruce Arena.
