Glenn Murray has joined Reading on-loan until January, with Kevin Doyle joining Palace from Wolves for the same period.
Doyle, 30, has been a regular in the Republic of Ireland squad since 2006 and has earnt 59 caps for his country. He has previous Premier League experience with Wolves.
Neil Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser that Murray requested to leave the club in order to play every week.
Murray stated on twitter: "Sad to say I have left @CPFC but happy to announce I have joined @ReadingFC on loan with a view to permanent #CPFC #readingfc"
