Glenn Murray had a 'goal' disallowed

Crystal Palace's pre-season preparations took a knock after a 2-0 defeat at FC Union Berlin.

Despite dominating for large portions of the game, Palace were undone by the clinical finishing of the German second-division side.

It might have been a different story had Eagles forward Glenn Murray's header in the 15th minute not been disallowed for a foul - but the half ended goalless.

Boss Alan Pardew rang the changes for the second period, with new record signing Yohan Cabaye making his first appearance in a Palace shirt.

The home team broke the deadlock in the 57th minute with Steven Skrzybski racing onto a throughball and expertly slotting into the bottom left corner.

The Eagles had the ball in the net again through Cabaye on 63 after keeper Haas parried Martin Kelly's shot but the Frenchman was ruled marginally offside.

It was all Palace as they chased an equaliser with Academy star Sully Kaikai seeing a rasping shot tipped onto the bar by Haas.

But Berlin added some gloss to the scoreline in the last minute with Skrzybski grabbing another goal after Brede Hangeland and Cabaye failed to clear their lines in the area.

Palace: Speroni (Hennessey 45), Ward (Bannan 69), Dann (Kelly 45), Delaney (Hangeland 45), Souare (Binnom-Williams 45), Puncheon (Bolasie 45), McArthur (Cabaye 45), Jedinak (Ledley 45), Gayle (Guedioura 45), Mutch (Kaikai 60), Murray (Campbell 45).
