Crystal Palace claimed a 3-1 success over Valencia in their final major friendly before the new season.

The Eagles continued their decent pre-season form with a seventh win from their eight summer games thanks to goals from Connor Wickham (2) and Mile Jedinak.

Palace scored the opener after just 10 minutes when Wickham got on the end of Pape Souare's cross from the left wing to find the net against the Spanish club.

The lead was doubled in the 35th minute with another strike from former Sunderland striker Wickham. Wilfried Zaha was fouled in the area and Wickham put away the resulting penalty at the second attempt after Matthew Ryan had initially saved.

With Wickham off the field, Mile Jedinak stepped up to convert another Eagles penalty for 3-0 just past the hour mark after substitute Keshi Anderson was taken down in the area.

The La Liga side hit the upright with an effort from Nani and then finally got a goal in the 82nd minute from Jaume Domenech's strike from the edge of the box that flew into the roof of the net.

Palace: Hennessey (Speroni 71), Ward (Croll 78), Dann, Delaney (Wynter 78), Souare (Kelly 61), Jedinak (Boateng 89), Puncheon (Kaikai 71), Zaha (Williams 62), Bolasie (Lee 46), Townsend (Anderson 62), Wickham (Dreher 62).
