Crystal Palace are set to announce their new manager - reported to be Trevor Francis - at a press conference at the club tommorrow at 9am.

Simon Jordan has been interviewing candidates for the job and Francis is firm favourite to be named as the new manager.

Jordan said: "I've had a good response and that hasn't surprised me. I'd have been more surprised if I hadn't got a big response.

"It's a very good football club in the top six of the First Division and it also has someone who is prepared to fund it."

It is believed Steve Bruce will become Birmingham's new boss after the match against them next month as a £500,000 compensation package has been agreed.
