Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley admits the club was right to sack Alan Pardew as manager.
Pardew was given the boot in December after a shocking run of just four Premier League wins in 17 matches as the Eagles plummeted towards relegation.
Replacement Sam Allardyce has found it difficult to turn things around but Wales international Ledley is confident the ex-England boss can lead the team out of trouble.
"We weren't doing well – 2016 was probably the worst year ever in football. We needed a change," said Ledley.
"There have not been drastic changes, but changes which needed to be done.
"Sam came in and hopefully with his routine and the way he wants us to play, things can happen and hopefully we can get results.
"We need to pick up results now more than performances."
