A Crystal Palace XI was defeated 6-2 away to Barnet at the Hive.

A young Eagles line-up included new signing Stephen Henderson in goal, plus senior stars Connor Wickham, Alexander Sorloth and Jairo Riedewald.

Midfielder David Boateng gave Palace an ideal start by firing his side in front after just three minutes with a neat finish from Sorloth's pass.

Six minutes later, Wickham increased the lead after Kian Flanagan’s corner was flicked on by Ryan Inniss and the striker volleyed home.

Five minutes before the break, the Bees pull one back from the spot through Mo Bettamer after Innis hauled Ephron Mason-Clark down in the area.

Seconds later, Jack Barham levelled the scores after converting Bettamer's low cross.

Two minutes after the interval, Barnet took the lead for the first time through substitute David Totunda.

He then added a fourth for the hosts on the hour mark, before Simeon Akinola (70 minutes) and an unnamed trialist (89) completed the rout.

Palace: Henderson, D Boateng, Inniss, Woods, Riedewald, Dreher (M Boateng 84), McGregor, Flanagan (Hobbs 79), Daly, Wickham (Lokilo 79), Sorloth.

Not used: Tupper, Pierrick, Aveiro.
