Crystal Palace have captured the signing of Japan international Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Tomiyasu can operate at full-back or centre half and signs after a completing a successful trial with the Eagles.

The 27-year-old, who was part of Japan's squad at the 2026 World Cup over the summer, was on loan at Dutch club Ajax for the second half of last season.

He has 46 caps for his country and knows the Premier League well having been at Arsenal for four years.

Tomiyasu said: "I’m excited to get started. This club is in a good moment, winning three titles in two seasons. Here is where I wanted to be."

Chairman Steve Parish added: “Takehiro has experience at the highest level of European and international football.

“We are delighted to welcome a player of his calibre to the club and believe he will prove to be a great addition to the squad.”
