Evann Guessand

Crystal Palace have completed the return of Evann Guessand, with the Ivory Coast international rejoining the club on a season-long loan from Aston Villa with an option to buy.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a successful spell at Selhurst Park during the second half of last season, making 14 appearances and scoring twice as the Eagles lifted the UEFA Conference League.

One of those goals came during Palace's memorable European run, while Guessand also featured as a substitute in the club's historic 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano in the Conference League final.

The forward returns after a mixed start to life at Aston Villa following his £26m move last summer. He made 21 appearances in all competitions before rejoining Palace, and also featured for Villa during their successful Europa League campaign, making him the first player to win two different European trophies in the same season.

Guessand, who earned two substitute appearances for Ivory Coast at this summer's World Cup, becomes Palace's fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Oscar Mingueza, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Dwight McNeil.

The Eagles had the opportunity to sign Guessand permanently earlier in the summer before the forward returned to Villa for pre-season, but have now secured his return as Pierre Sage continues to strengthen his squad ahead of another campaign in Europe.
