Ben Chilwell

Crystal Palace have completed the permanent signing of former loanee Ben Chilwell following his season with French side RC Strasbourg.

The 29-year-old returns to Selhurst Park having previously spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan from Chelsea, making 11 appearances and playing his part as the Eagles lifted the FA Cup for the first time in the club's history.

Chilwell scored once during his previous Palace spell before leaving Chelsea for Strasbourg, where he made 34 appearances last season – including lining up against the Eagles in the UEFA Conference League.

The left-back began his career at Leicester City and made 123 appearances for the Foxes before joining Chelsea in 2020. During his time at Stamford Bridge he won the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup, while he has also earned 21 England caps and was part of the squad which reached the Euro 2020 final.

Palace chairman Steve Parish said: "With his experience and quality, Ben played a huge part in us winning our first trophy last year. It is terrific to welcome him back to Crystal Palace. We hope he can help us to further success."

Chilwell added: "It's amazing to be back. It's nice to see some familiar faces, and I'm just really excited to get back in, see the boys and the fans – and get going again."
