Palace 2-3 Ipswich

Palace 2-3 Ipswich

Crystal Palace slipped to a 3-2 defeat against Ipswich Town at Selhurst Park after playing most of the match with ten men and conceding a late winner.

Palace took the lead on 14 minutes through Anan Khalaili after Daichi Kamada picked him out in space on the right. Khalaili's attempted cross or shot took a deflection off Leif Davis and found the bottom corner beyond Kjell Scherpen.

Ipswich responded nine minutes later through Emersonn, who powered a header past Walter Benitez from Davis' dangerous delivery.

Palace were then reduced to 10 men on 34 minutes when Axel Disasi caught Jack Clarke with a high challenge to the shin and was sent off.

Ipswich made their numerical advantage count on the stroke of half-time. Emersonn helped the ball into the path of Davis, who headed home to put Gary O'Neil's side 2-1 ahead.

Despite being a man down, Palace eventually found a way back into the contest. Jorgen Strand Larsen held off Issa Diop before driving home the equaliser on 75 minutes.

The Eagles looked to have rescued a point, but in the 90th minute a deep cross picked out the advancing Davis, whose looping header clipped the crossbar and the ball rebounded for substitute Zian Flemming to score.

The defeat leaves Pierre Sage's Palace with three losses from their opening four matches, having conceded at least twice in each of those defeats
