Crystal Palace produced a stunning comeback to beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 at Selhurst Park, turning a difficult afternoon into a memorable victory against former manager Oliver Glasner.

Glasner, who guided the Eagles to historic FA Cup and Conference League triumphs before departing in the summer, received a warm reception from the Palace faithful before kick-off. However, it was his Forest side who made the brighter start, taking the lead after just three minutes when Dan Ndoye fired a low effort past Walter Benitez.

Palace struggled to get a foothold in the game and were fortunate not to fall further behind. Morgan Gibbs-White struck the crossbar before Benitez produced a remarkable point-blank save to deny Liam Delap from the rebound. The Eagles looked second best for much of the opening 40 minutes, but the contest was turned on its head just before the interval.

Daichi Kamada sparked the comeback in the 41st minute, finishing a well-worked team move to register his first Premier League goal. Palace then completed an unlikely turnaround deep into first-half stoppage time when Jefferson Lerma headed home through the legs of Matz Sels. The goal survived a VAR check despite replays suggesting the ball may have brushed Anan Khalaili's arm on its way into the net.

The Eagles emerged with renewed confidence after the break and extended their advantage in the 59th minute. Jorgen Strand Larsen's effort was saved by Sels, but Yeremy Pino reacted quickest to slot home the rebound and end his 19-game Premier League goal drought.

Forest continued to threaten, with Benitez producing another excellent save to deny substitute Chris Wood, but Palace held firm to secure all three points. The Selhurst Park crowd enjoyed the occasion, directing playful chants towards their former manager as the Eagles completed their first league victory over Forest in 14 years.

The victory lifts Pierre Sage's side to 12th in the Premier League with seven points from six matches, providing a welcome boost after a difficult start to the campaign. While Palace's defensive vulnerabilities remain a concern, the attacking display offered encouraging signs as the Eagles secured their second league win of the season.

For Glasner, it was a bittersweet return to South London. The Austrian expressed his gratitude for the reception from Palace supporters, but it was his successor who celebrated at the final whistle after an impressive turnaround.

Palace: Benítez, Canvot, Richards, Lerma (Ahanor, 72), Mitchell, Timber, Wharton, Khalaili, Yéremy Pino (Sarr, 83), Kamada (McNeil, 90), Strand Larsen (Nketiah, 83)

Forest: Sels, Murillo, Diomande, Aina (Kalimuendo, 83), Williams, McAtee, Schlager (Sangaré, 66), Muñoz, Ndoye (Hudson-Odoi, 72), Gibbs-White, Delap (Wood, 72)
