Crystal Palace booked their place in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Fulham.

The result lifts the pressure on manager Pierre Sage who made 10 changes following the weekend defeat to Newcastle.

Palace survived a difficult opening in which Kenny Tete, Antonee Robinson and Joachim Andersen all wasted opportunities for the hosts.

Eddie Nketiah punished Fulham's wastefulness in the 37th minute, deftly redirecting Oscar Mingueza's cross into the net with Palace's only attempt of the first half.

Fulham continued to dictate proceedings after the interval, but returning goalkeeper Dean Henderson preserved the lead with an important save from Alex Iwobi.

Daichi Kamada squandered a late opportunity to double Palace's advantage before Henderson denied substitute Gonzalo Garcia's header as the visitors held firm.

The win secured a home quarter-final against Sunderland and took Palace into the last eight of the competition for a club-record third successive season.
