Palace 1-3 Liverpool

Crystal Palace slumped to a fourth successive Premier League defeat as Liverpool secured a 3-1 victory at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just seven points from their opening ten matches, having endured a miserable start to the campaign under the Frenchman.

Despite Liverpool enjoying much of the early possession, Palace created the better openings, with Yeremy Pino striking the crossbar before Jorgen Strand Larsen had a goal disallowed for offside.

The visitors punished those missed opportunities five minutes before the interval when Alexis Mac Allister headed home from Dominik Szoboszlai's free-kick.

Palace's task became even more difficult nine minutes after the restart as Florian Wirtz finished clinically from Bradley Barcola's pass to put Liverpool firmly in control.

The Eagles continued to threaten, with goalkeeper Alisson Becker producing six saves over the course of the contest as the hosts struggled to turn their opportunities into goals.

Alexander Isak added a third for Liverpool in the 89th minute, taking his league tally to seven goals for the season and extinguishing any lingering hopes of a Palace comeback under manager Pierre Sage.

Eddie Nketiah converted a penalty deep into stoppage time after Milos Kerkez fouled Dario Osorio, but it offered little consolation to Sage, whose side remain in deep trouble.
