Gooding on trial at Oxford

March 7 2002

Scott Gooding

Scott Gooding

Reserve team fullback Scott Gooding has gone on trial at Oxford United with a view to a permanent move.

The youngster will join QPR's Christer Warren and Middlesbrough's Christian Anderton on trial and all three are expected to play for the reserve team against Luton Town reserves.

Gooding has only played one first-team game this season, coming on as a substitute in Palace's Boxing Day defeat at Millwall.

He signed a new contract last summer, but Palace are keen to trim down the squad and he could leave if the offer is right.
